Tourflex Cabling Makes Lasting Connections at P&J Live Aberdeen
UK – Tourflex® Cabling has supplied nearly 5,000 custom cable assemblies using 24km of cable to P&J Live at TECA, the North of Scotland’s new largest events venue – delivered in 9 weeks from order.
The largest UK investment of its kind, P&J Live offers world-class facilities. Located next to Aberdeen International Airport and operated by ASM Global, it is tipped to become a major events hub.
P&J Live’s goal was to offer premier lighting & AV production services in-house for the venue’s flexible, multi-purpose Baker Hughes Exhibition and Conference Hub.
With the importance of providing clients with a seamless production service – and the need to re-configure lighting & AV equipment to suit each event’s room size and requirements – P&J Live was keen to invest in high-quality cabling providing ‘tour-grade’ reliability despite constant temporary use.
Tourflex Cabling provided a massive range of power, data signal and hybrid cable assemblies – including Tourflex Datasafe™ DMX & Ethernet, Tourmate Powersafe™ & Tourmate Multilock™ mains power, and various other product lines for the venue’s lighting, rigging, video and audio infrastructure.
Each of the assemblies is made to order as a custom item, with its own unique product specification, choice of length and connectors, and has its own manufacturing code for tracking purposes
With the venue priding itself on the presentable condition and identification of its equipment, each assembly features the ‘TECA’ site logo shrink-wrapped onto its cable, and laser engraved on its connectors. In addition, every cable is colour-coded by length to enable easy stock management.
Tourflex Cabling also supplied a number of custom distribution boxes for the cabling infrastructure.
