Tourflex Cabling Gets Behind The Voice of Mongolia
Tourflex® Cabling has supplied nearly 3 kilometres of made-to-order power and data cabling infrastructure for a large rig providing the lighting on ‘The Voice of Mongolia’.

‘The Voice’ franchise, which is licensed in 62 countries and has a global audience of 650 million viewers, is being brought to Mongolia by the award-winning Mongol TV channel.
The rig and infrastructure were specified by the show’s UK-based lighting designer and consultant Tom Kinane, lighting operator Sam MacLaren, and gaffer Richard Jarvis.
Reliability and a quick turnaround were key considerations, with only four weeks in which to get all equipment specified, ordered and delivered to the studio in Mongolia.
Sam recommended getting the cabling infrastructure from Tourflex Cabling, the in-house service of A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET), who also supplied the set’s lighting rig.
The supply included nearly 1.5 kilometres metres of various lengths of Tourflex® Datasafe Ultra™ 1 pair DMX lighting signal cabling, fitted with Neutrik XLR connectors. Featuring a toughened jacket for extra protection, and manufactured and tested to exacting specifications, the cable is ideal for use on live television broadcasts.
The cabling service also supplied over 400 metres of power cabling custom assembled with Tourmate® Multilock™ connectors, 14 Tourmate® Multilock™ male spiders, plus 1 kilometre of HO7RN-F extension cables.
Gaffer Richard Jarvis commented: “Tourflex Cabling did a great job of meeting our huge cable order at short notice. When I visited the studio to check everything was rigged properly, it was hugely reassuring to find that the cabling infrastructure was all working 100% reliably and had survived the trip. I would definitely use this quality cabling service again.”
Tourflex Cabling will be represented on the AC-ET stand (hall 3.0, stand F65) at ProLight & Sound 2018, Messe Frankfurt, Germany, 10th – 13th April 2018.
